Total cereal and its benefits

Many of us are not getting the total micronutrients that we need daily. We are so focused on the Macronutrients (protein, fat and carbs), that we figure once we have those down we don’t need to worry about anything else. But it’s the micronutrients that gives us that great glow in our skin and nails and that strong healthy hair. Our “micros” keep our body going.

Breakfast cereals are often frowned up, but that’s because some are loaded with sugar. Total, however is made with whole grains, and include plenty of vitamins you can’t find in just one food item.

Our bodies need vitamins to remain healthy, but many of us have trouble finding sources of vitamins. That’s where Total excels. Total is a cereal brand made by General Mills that consists of whole grain flakes and here are some of its benefits on to eating it.

Great taste

Usually when you think of anything that may be healthy for you, the first thing you think of is the taste. Well total cereal is actually a great tasting cereal. Think of cornflakes but with a little more flavor. Throw a little almond milk in the bowl and you got a delicious breakfast you’ll love to eat daily.

Keeps you full

Whether you’re like me and love to fill the bowl with cereal or whether you eat the recommended portion size, Total is filling and can sustain you until lunchtime. With 3 grams of fiber, Total give you just enough to be productive in the mornings without feeling too full or bloated.

Total Vitamins and Minerals

The main positive for Total cereal is that it’s loaded with vitamins and minerals. As I stated earlier, some of us struggle to get those essential vitamins and this cereal gives you 100 percent of the vitamins you need. Those vitamins include Vitamin C, E, Iron, Zinc, Thiamin, Riboflavin, and Vitamin B12. These are key nutrients that affect your hair, skin, and nails.

The recommended serving size is 3/4 cup and if you stick with that you should be fine. For my fellow Endomorphs, if you eat this serving size along with almond milk, your carbs for this meal should be under 30 grams which sets the tone for a good day.

Never really ate cereal but I’ve been having Total for the past two weeks and it’s been going great. I feel better as I’ve switched away from oatmeal which used to weigh me down.

Try out Total cereal and if you like it or if it doesn’t change much of your daily routine, let me know in the comments below.
